A 17-year-old Phillies fan rushed Citizens Bank Park field Monday night as the Phillies were on the field, eluding the police was stopped dead in his tracks when he was Tasered, reports the Philly FOX affiliate.

The teenager was wearing a khaki shorts and a red Phillies National League Championship t-shirt, waving around a towel as he dashed around the field. He was Tasered from behind, causing him to fall flat on his face. Although the incident wasn't televised live -- at the time, the St. Louis Cardinals were awaiting their turn at bat -- many fans had their own video recorders and uploaded the video to YouTube shortly after the game. The newscasts have picked up the video. In response, Philadelphia Police used a Taser on the young man in front of the 40,000 crowd members.

Philadelphia police's Internal Affairs Bureau will review the case to see if this was an appropriate use of force. The teen wasn't named because he's a minor, but he'll be charged with criminal trespassing and other offenses. Police are reviewing the case to see if it was an appropriate use of force.

"The teen, wearing a red Phillies National League Champions T-shirt and khaki shorts, was running around the outfield waving a white towel and eluding security. A uniformed officer pointed the Taser at him, fired and didn't miss, taking the boy down face-first, like the way Pete Rose used to slide," Fox 29's Steve Keeley reported.
